A moment for Analog
I often get asked about my life as a digital artist. And the greatest belief is that I let the computer do all the work. I am unsure where this myth got started in the world of art. I am not sure if it is the visual mastery that has come from the giant Pixar but wherever this illusion has stemmed from I still believe that computers are at most just a tool. No matter how good or bad you are the computer can only make art you produce. I often say say if I can’t draw it I can’t paint it.
In this post I want to take a second on what I have produced before computers. In truth I was trained in college as an oil painter. I don’t have many of my paintings left either they have been damaged or sold before I converted them into a digital record.
